Premier Water Solutions 10 LTD unveils NH₄P0: the next generation of ultra-low nutrient wastewater treatment for the UK
Premier Water Solutions 10 LTD (PWS10) will launch the NH₄P0wastewater treatment range at WWEM 2025 (NEC, 17–18 Sept), introducing vertical labyrinth process technology to the UK market. Designed for today’s nutrient-neutrality requirements and tomorrow’s tighter discharge permits, NH₄P0 sets a new benchmark for real-world performance, resilience, and lifecycle cost.
“Developers and home owners keep telling us the same thing: they need guaranteed ultra-low nutrients and a plant that copes with real-world use—peaks, troughs, and seasonal shutdowns,” said Louisa Inch, Managing Director at Premier Water Solutions 10 LTD. “NH₄P0 delivers exceptionally low ammonia and phosphate in normal operation, but what sets it apart is its proven ability to handle highly variable flows and even no-flow periods up to 180 days without compromising the quality. It is the first low nutrient removal, low energy and carbon treatment plant in the UK, ”
Why NH₄P0 is different
1) Built for ultra-low nutrients (N & P) — in the real world
Incredible effluent quality: target outputs as low as ~0.2 mg/L NH₄-N and ~0.6 mg/L PO₄-P (application-specific), supporting developments in nutrient-neutral catchments.
Best in Low N and P Class - stable under variable occupancy: campsites, holiday cottages, second homes, rural venues—NH₄P0 is engineered to ride out peak-load spikes and long low-flow periods of up to 180 days.
2) Better than standard SAF packaged plants
Process resilience: Unlike conventional SAF (Submerged Aerated Filter) units that can struggle with shock loads, seasonal demand, or extended downtime, NH₄P0’s vertical labyrinth process and intelligent control maintain process stability across changing conditions.
Nutrient removal: Where SAF plants typically focus on (BOD/SS and some ammonia removal) with limited Phosphate removal, NH₄P0 is specified from the outset for ammonia and phosphate reduction to enable permit compliance in sensitive catchments.
Whole-life cost: Fewer reactive call-outs, robust restart capability after no-flow, and longer de-sludge intervals (site-specific) reduce operational risk and total cost of ownership. There is no chemical dosing or pellets in the process that needs regular replenishing, meaning cheaper lifecycle running costs.
3) Top of its class among N/P-reducing packaged plants
Ultra-low P with resilience: Other advanced P plants can quote low phosphorus figures in steady-state lab conditions. NH₄P0 distinguishes itself by combining ultra-low P with documented tolerance to fluctuating flows and up to 180 days no-flow—a critical advantage for seasonal and variable-use sites.
Intelligent Plus Controller: Adaptive aeration and process logic and alarms for proactive maintenance—supporting compliance by design.
Sustainability: Efficient energy profile, durable Polypropylene construction, and robotic manufacturing pathway aligned with net-zero goals.
Who NH₄P0 is for
Developers, planners, and architects unlocking sites in nutrient-neutral catchments
Local Authorities and Housing Associations seeking robust, low-risk off-mains solutions
Holiday parks, campsites, glamping sites, rural inns, and event venues with highly variable occupancy
Self-builders and estates needing dependable, permit-ready packaged treatment
Commercial, tourism, and agritourism schemes requiring ultra-low nutrient discharges
Designed for today’s rules—and tomorrow’s
With nutrient neutrality now a planning reality across many English catchments, and with tightening environmental legislation ahead (including measures in the forthcoming Environment Bill 2021 aimed at cleaning up inland waters), discharge permits will only move in one direction: tougher. NH₄P0 provides a future-fit platform that helps:
Reduce phosphate credits by achieving ultra-low P at source (for one property with standard WWTP Phosphate removal in Somerset the Phosphate credit could be £64k in credits compared with the NH4P0 WWTP of £4.1K).
De-risk planning in sensitive catchments through demonstrably low nutrient outputs
Support compliance with UK frameworks BS EN 12566, Listed on the British Water’s certified treatment plant supplier list up to 50PE; Building Regulations Part H, General Binding Rules and site-specific Environment Agency permit requirements
“NH₄P0 is our answer to the UK’s next decade of water policy,” added Louisa Inch. “It gives planners confidence, reduces developer risk, and protects our rivers and bathing waters. It’s the right technology at the right time.”
